With Love and Roses

With Love and Roses was established in 2015 when I decided not to not return to my office based 9-5 job after my maternity leave. The decision to leave the security of full-time employment was made easier as I was fulfilling a dream of living and breathing a creative hands-on job rather than sitting behind a desk in an admin role.

 

I am a country girl at heart having grown up in the hills of West Yorkshire and with a childhood surrounded by countryside and a beautiful garden I have always had a love of flowers. I started working in a local florist when I was 16 where I learnt the basics of flower arranging –starting with sweeping the floor! However my aspiration at the time was to obtain a degree in Fashion Design which brought me to Northampton University. I met my wonderful husband whilst studying and eventually I re-located to the Heart of England permanently.

 

In 2012 during the planning my own wonderful wedding my passion for flowers was re-awakened and I enrolled onto a night-class City & Guilds Floristry course to perfect my technique – I continued on and I am now qualified to Level 3. I love learning and will take any opportunity that comes my way to widen my knowledge and perfect my skills. I love a challenge and will always consider anything a couple may throw at me when it comes to their wedding flowers.

 

I work from my home studio, which I have lovingly renovated, and I offer wedding and event floristry across Northamptonshire, working alongside some amazing suppliers at some fabulous venues. I also offer workshops, which are always on a small scale (max. 6) so everyone gets the help and support they need to create something truly wonderful.
